Classmates,

As previously promised, we have added a golf outing to the reunion weekend festivities!  The outing will take place on Friday, October 1st at the new 1757 Golf Club in Dulles/Sterling.  Here’s a link to the club’s website.  It looks very nice: www.1757golfclub.com.

Currently, I’ve reserved 8 tee times (32 players) starting at 10AM.  The cost per player is $85.  If you’d like to play, please send me an e-mail (Mark_Layer@dell.com) reply with the number and name of players (assuming some will want to include their spouses/significant others).  It will be first come, first served but I suspect if there’s additional interest, we can add another foursome or two.  Please send me a check to cover the cost for you (and your guest, if applicable) as soon as you’re able as I will be paying the course directly:

As in past outings, we’ll make it interesting by engaging in a little “friendly competition” by playing a “Captain’s Choice” format.  This is where each player hits a tee shot.  The “Captain” of the team decides which shot is the “best”, then everyone hits a shot from that point.  The same format is followed for each shot, including putts.  Only one score is recorded for the foursome on each hole.  No handicaps are taken into account.  The foursome with the best 18-hole score wins (probably nothing but bragging rights and a round at the 19th hole!).  It’s a fun format if you’ve never played it because everyone, regardless of skill level, has the opportunity to contribute to the team’s score on every hole.
